About Laura J. Bagby
Laura has been intrigued with Hollywood ever since she was a child, and movies truly captured her imagination. She dreamed of one day heading out to Tinseltown and starring in a major motion picture. But if stardom didn’t come quickly, she didn’t relish the idea of waiting on tables year after year. She had tried waitressing previously, but being left-handed has its distinct disadvantages when trying to set a table correctly! Plus, the whole “starving artist” idea lost its appeal.
But then, while a graduate student, Laura realized she didn’t have to completely give up her love for movies. As a journalist, she realized she could rub shoulders with the stars while making her mark as an author with a byline. Sounded good! So she earned a Master’s in Communication (Film/TV Studies) and a Master’s in Journalism.
Laura stays in the loop on new releases by attending film screenings as press. When not writing this blog, she periodically writes reviews for previewonline.org.
Laura has been privileged to travel to Los Angeles to attend several film junkets for major motion pictures like National Treasure 2, Kit Kittredge, Bedtime Stories, Beverly Hills Chihuahua, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Marley & Me, and The Day the Earth Stood Still.
You can also hear Laura review movies on Fridays on Positive Hit Radio The Current FM during Liz Lane’s “Heart of Praise” show.

Hi Laura,
It was nice meeting you tonight. Some movie huh?
Like some kind of crazy war flick with comic relief. Can’t say
it was boring though.
I like your site, and enjoyed your deeper analysis of
Pelham 123. My brief review of it can be heard at the
Cathy Lewis Hearsay Link at http://www.whro.org.
Take care, and I hope to see you around,
Greg

Hey, Greg,
Great meeting you too. Thanks for the kudos. I will definitely check out your blog and your audio review. I just love doing the radio! Don’t know if you will be at the Public Enemies screening on Thursday, but I will be there. If not, see you at the next screening.

Hi Laura, Sorry; I didn’t realize my message
would post. (duh) I won’t be at the Public Enemies
screening. I’ve got next week off because of
the WHRV holiday schedule. So I’ll catch you next
time – maybe for Harry Potter – if they offer a press
screening for that one.
